Seattle, Washington
My studio is located in an artist community building in Seattle, Washington. All the different artists in the building are very inspirational, and we often collaborate on projects together. I love keeping any scraps of my handdyed silk works and then using them to inspire new projects. The beautiful surroundings outside of Seattle also inspire me: the rainforest, evergreens, and Cascade Mountains. I like to work next to the window, as the colors really come alive in natural light. I have hooks and a clothing rack next to my workstation, so I can refer to and use any of my preexisting pieces for inspiration. I love so many things about my studio! Probably the bright colors most of all. During the gray Seattle winter, I couldn’t live without them. The location of my studio, in the oldest part of Seattle, is a close second, especially since the art scene is really blossoming here. |
