Fiberarts Studios

Chrissy Wai-Ching
Seattle, Washington

My studio is located in an artist community building in Seattle, Washington. All the different artists in the building are very inspirational, and we often collaborate on projects together. I love keeping any scraps of my handdyed silk works and then using them to inspire new projects. The beautiful surroundings outside of Seattle also inspire me: the rainforest, evergreens, and Cascade Mountains. I like to work next to the window, as the colors really come alive in natural light. I have hooks and a clothing rack next to my workstation, so I can refer to and use any of my preexisting pieces for inspiration. I love so many things about my studio! Probably the bright colors most of all. During the gray Seattle winter, I couldn’t live without them. The location of my studio, in the oldest part of Seattle, is a close second, especially since the art scene is really blossoming here.
