My studio is in an old reborn mill near a river. I divided it into five areas:
inspiration/musing area that overlooks the water, wet area for painting and dyeing,
design wall and construction, gallery wall and sales table, and various storage
areas. I collect beach stones and place them around the room. They are my touchstones
from my walks at the nearby beach as well as weights for my work. They remind
me of reflections that are so essential for the artistic process. I can be messy
here, letting the creative muse take over. It is less isolating that working from
home, and yet it is freeing to work with so many kindred spirits around me.
