Louise Bourgeois: Stitching Salvation
At the end of May 2010, we lost internationally celebrated icon Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010). In our November/December 2010 issue Wendy Ruth Weiss offers a tribute to the artist and her work. Bourgeois created work that engages the viewer in an intimate, visceral exchange. Created over the span of seven decades, her art often includes a textile sensibility. In our September/October 2006 issue Rhonda Sonnenberg wrote “Louise Bourgeois: Stitching Salvation” we are posting it here as further tribute to this great artist.
