Made for Love: The Silken Gowns of Candiss Cole

In our Winter 2010/2011 issue, Laurie Fagen offers a tribute to the success of wearable artist, designer, and master weaver Candiss Cole-Footitt in the article “Celebrating Success” on page 42. Over the span of her thirty-five-year career, Candiss has continued to create elegant and timeless collections of handwoven and felted art to wear. Looking back in our archives, Al Paqua introduced this then-emerging designer in his article “Made for Love: The Silken Gowns of Candiss Cole” in the May/June 1979 issue, which we are posting here as further tribute to her enduring passion for textiles.
