Web-Exclusive Gallery
Of Flora and Fauna:
Renee Harris and Donna June Katz

The Summer 2006 issue of Fiberarts features a conversation between Editor Sunita Patterson and artists Renee Harris and Donna June Katz. The article looks at the differences and similarities between the two artists’ work. While the two work in different media, both feature the natural world and portray their subjects from various perspectives within a piece. Beyond these it isn’t surprising that other commonalities were discovered in the course of the conversation. From interest in the outdoors to capturing transitions in nature and blurring boundaries, it is apparent these two were cut from the same cloth. Here we offer a supplemental Web gallery of the artists’ work.

Renee Harris

Renee Harris lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, and combines hand embroidery and felted wool in her work. She attended the Corcoran School of Art and completed her four-year certificate in fine arts at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
